Focusrite needs to figure this out without the excuse of "well every machine is different, blah blah blah". I don't have the ability for firewire on my laptop and am not going out to purchase a new system. They had me uninstall reaper and mix control/usb drivers AGAIN today, and reinstall. Guess what? Mix control crashed within 20 seconds of running Ableton. I should not be having these problems.įocusrite had me download and install a trial version of Ableton, thinking that Reaper was causing the crashes. I've run DPC latency checker and it's fine. Today, the sync would unlock and then re lock randomly on me, causing sound to stop recording and then kick back in. The kemper only does 44.1 so that's what I have the rate set at. Mix control has a habit of crashing when Reaper is running, especially when I set the sync source to spdif and make the kemper the master (as I'm supposed to). Even after doing all this and disabling my wireless adapter, shutting my internet connection, my carbonite backups and my anti-virus, I'm still experiencing the same issues. I reinstalled reaper, all the scarlett drivers and the mix control software to try to find a solution for the problems. Within the last month or so, I've completely done a fresh/clean install of Windows 7 on my laptop to start fresh. I get the crackling when using the regular 1/4" inputs as well. I have a Kemper profiling amp that I use for all my guitar tones and really want to use SPDIF to record the signal and also for reamping purposes. The noise seems to only be on playback as I don't hear it while I'm recording guitar. I'm been getting crackling noise for awhile when recording. I've been in contact with focusrite support on and off for months and they don't seem to be able to figure out the problem and just today, they seem to be pointing the finger at Reaper as the cause of the problems. Actually, it never really has run smoothly. I've owned the 18i6 for about a year now and it hasn't run smoothly for awhile now.
